Performance Awareness

This masterclass will be divided into two age groups: 7-10 and 11-15 and will focus on the singer as a performer.  In the younger section, students will learn a solo in their private lesson and present it to our guest clinican, Elisabeth Pomes.  We are delighted to have Elisabeth working with us again this year.  Her advice and encouragement was very beneficial to all of the students who attended last year’s workshop.  Family and friends are encouraged to attend this workshop to be our audience.  In the older section, Elisabeth will conduct her widely acclaimed workshop entitled, “Performance Awareness”.  She will share her expertise on dealing with nerves while performing and will provide the students with the tools necessary to develop the singer as a performer.

Elisabeth Pomes holds a Master in Literature from the University of Paris, a Bachelor in Music and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Toronto. Ms. Pomes has appeared in operas recitals broadcast performances, chamber music programs as well as concerts with orchestra. She has been a member of the Faculty of The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto since 1991 and has recorded for CBC and CJRT. Ms. Pomes has also released a CD entitled, Tapestry of the Heart.
